Big idea: What sort of power and influence do our words actually have?

Main Point: Using our words for good.

Prophetic Thought:  We’ve all seen how fast a single moment can spin out of control—a joke that hits just a little too close to home, a false accusation that sticks even after the truth comes out, or one miscommunicated phrase that instantly wrecks a relationship and destroys years of trust. Words aren't harmless; the Bible warns us that the edge of our tongue can cause real destruction. But God offers a different way forward. The same God who breathed life into humanity gives us His Word as an anchor of healing and truth. Through Jesus and the Holy Spirit, we are given a daily reset so that the words we speak stop creating chaos and start breathing His life, grace, and restoration directly into our families, our work, and everyone we meet.

Application: Words can wreak havoc or breathe renewed life into each person we interact with.  When emotions rise, are we quick to speak without thought or do we bridle our tongue and think before we speak?  Do we value what we say to people and what it can do in their lives as well as ours?  When we focus on Jesus, allowing him to change us from the inside out, he can give power to our voice through the words we say that give life to people.  How a dad can encourage and lift up a child, a wife who helps remind her husband how loved he is, a friend who calls and lifts you up when you need it the most.  God can and will use your words to breathe life if you allow it.
