How it all started...
The Heights Church began with a calling. In 2012, Jacob and Kym Powers felt led by God to plant a church in Airway Heights—a growing community with a need for hope, truth, and the love of Jesus. They moved to the area with a clear mission: to build a church where people could grow in faith, find real community, and make a lasting impact.
What started as a small group of passionate people gathering in homes quickly grew into a movement. United by a heart to serve and reach Airway Heights, that early group laid the foundation for what would become The Heights Church.
We were planted out of Life Center North (now known as North Church), and we are proud to be a granddaughter church of Life Center in Spokane. That legacy of discipleship and outreach continues to shape who we are today—a church committed to helping people follow Jesus, grow in faith, and go make a difference.

Expanding the vision...
As The Heights Church began to grow, God continued to provide. In our early years, we met at DAA Northwest, a local auto auction facility that generously opened its doors to us. It was an incredible gift that gave our young church a place to gather, worship, and serve the community together.
After several years of faithful ministry at DAA, God opened the door for something more permanent. We were able to purchase the former JJ’s Warehouse—a large, open facility right in the heart of Airway Heights. Through prayer, generosity, and a whole lot of hard work, we remodeled the space and turned it into a welcoming home for our church family and The Hub for our mission in the city.
After several years of faithful ministry at DAA, God opened the door for something more permanent. We were able to purchase the former JJ’s Warehouse—a large, open facility right in the heart of Airway Heights. Where we are headed...
Our mission is far from over. We believe God has called us to reach every corner of Airway Heights with the love, truth, and hope of Jesus. We want every person in our city to know that they are seen, valued, and invited into a life-changing relationship with Christ.
But it does not stop there. As we continue to grow, we are also committed to helping expand God’s Kingdom beyond our city. We believe in raising up leaders, planting new churches, and supporting other communities as they step into what God has called them to do.
The future is full of opportunity, and we are excited to keep saying "yes" to whatever God has next—for Airway Heights, for the region, and for His Kingdom.
