Big Idea:  Saving faith is demonstrated through faithful obedience. We are saved by grace through faith, but genuine faith is never inactive.

Main Point: Living faith chooses obedience today because it rests in God's promises for tomorrow.

1. Living Faith Trusts God

James 2:21–23

Abraham was declared righteous because he believed God (Genesis 15:6).

His obedience in Genesis 22 didn't earn salvation—it revealed his trust.

Faith isn't merely believing about God; it's trusting Him enough to obey.

Grace is the root. Obedience is the fruit.

2. Living Faith Is Seen in Action

James 2:22

Faith and actions work together.

Good works don't create faith—they reveal it.

Our actions demonstrate who we truly trust.

Ephesians 2:8–9

Saved by grace through faith—not by works.

Key Thought:

Works are not a résumé we present to God; they are the footprints of trust.

3. Living Faith Doesn't Require Perfection

James 2:23–24

Abraham wasn't perfect, but he trusted God.

Jesus lived the perfect life we never could.

Our confidence is in Christ's righteousness, not our performance.

2 Corinthians 12:9

"My grace is sufficient for you..."

4. Living Faith Takes the Next Faithful Step

We aren't responsible for controlling the outcome.

We are responsible for:

Speaking truth in love.

Showing mercy.

Taking the next step of obedience.

Trusting God with the results.
